The Kozai Biyori Group regards reclaimed wood as “wood diamonds”
and its mission is to spread its appeal to the world.
reclaimed wood from old houses and other places is a unique existence that has gained depth over the years.
However, we are concerned that its value is not fully understood and it is discarded.
We want to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by bringing out the history and beauty of reclaimed wood to the fullest and creating new value.

Pillars are very popular because they have the unique characteristics of reclaimed wood, such as mortise holes, and are easy to use. Because they are important components that support old houses, they are firmly assembled with beams, making them difficult to collect, but we work hard every day to collect them in order to ensure a stable supply.

With a nationwide network of five locations, we offer a stable supply of diverse reclaimed lumber. Our extensive collection includes Japanese lumber suited to the local climate, complemented by direct imports. We leverage our procurement, sales, and financial strength to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality reclaimed materials.

Quality control and processing reduce on-site work

All old materials have been cleaned, and foreign materials in particular are carefully processed in accordance with Japanese standards.
We help our customers shorten construction times by cleaning and processing the material by hand to preserve its texture. We provide even the slightest support in resolving issues at construction sites faced with deadlines.

Immediate delivery of non-combustible Reclaimed wood boards

Currently, it is difficult to secure a stable inventory of non-combustible old materials because it takes time and money to process them.
However, we already have over 600 square meters of non-flammable treated products in stock, and we will continue to increase production.

Japanese reclaimed wood is sourced from traditional Japanese houses, known as kominka, which are approximately 100 years old.

Built entirely with intricate wooden joinery, these traditional houses showcase the unparalleled craftsmanship of skilled artisans. The meticulous hand-carvings bear witness to their expertise. By embracing the natural imperfections and the passage of time, these houses reflect a deep-rooted Japanese philosophy of living in harmony with nature. Exploring these structures offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in Japanese culture, history, spirituality, and the distinctive spirit of an island nation.

However, as time goes by, more and more of these traditional houses are being demolished and replaced with new buildings. That’s why we’ve started a business to salvage and reuse the valuable materials from these old houses.

The salvaged wood is carefully stored and restored, transforming it into beautiful materials once again.

These materials are then given new life in contemporary spaces.
